Each state agency is responsible for advertising job vacancies, accepting employment applications, and making hiring decisions for their respective agency. The Department of Corrections only accepts applications for advertised positions. However, it should be noted that the Department is continuously advertising and recruiting for Correctional Officers and Correctional Probation Officers.
Types of Position Advertisements
Internal Agency Opportunity - applications will only be accepted from Career Service employees who are currently employed by the Department, or those who have a valid request for promotion on file. These positions shall be advertised for a minimum of seven calendar days.
Open - State Employees Only - applications will be accepted from all applicants who are currently employed by the State of Florida.
Open Competitive Opportunity - applications will be accepted from all applicants.
