Internships at the Florida Department of Corrections are only for criminology and criminal justice majors, right?

No. We have internship opportunities available statewide in a variety of professional and academic disciplines including: Accounting, Agricultural Sciences, Business Administration, Communications, Criminal Justice, Education, Film and Video Production, Information Sciences, Law, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration and Policy, Social Work, and several related therapy disciplines including Art, Creative Writing, Music Education and Theater.

Are the internships paid or unpaid?
A.
In most cases the internships are unpaid with the exception of those offered in the Doctoral psychology program. Academic credit may be awarded in accordance with your college's requirements and standards.

How long does the internship last?
A.
All placements require a commitment of a minimum of one academic semester/term and a minimum commitment of 20-30 hours per week, with the exception of Probation and Parole which requires a 40 hour per week commitment.
